The Internal Revenue Service (SII) delivered to the Public Ministry the list of public officials who requested and received the middle class bonus, lying about his actual financial background.
One fact that drew attention was that 1,370 Carabineros officials were identified, stating that in the institution there are just over 66,000 workers between police and civilians, according to the newspaper La Tercera.
According to the same media, civilians who work in Carabineros indicated within the institution that they carried out work outside of working hours in other places and that they stopped receiving this income due to the covid-19 pandemic.
Along the same lines, it was detected that 48 officials of the Investigative Police (PDI) also received the benefit without having the required background information, before which the institution announced sanctions.
“In this context, the PDI will adopt the most drastic measures, considering that the staff at no time saw their salaries affected and that they were aware of the administrative implications in the case of requesting it,” they indicated from the civil police.
It should be remembered that people who irregularly received the bonus for the middle class have until November 30 to return the money to the Internal Revenue Service (SII).
