Just over a month the meteorologist was off-screen Ivan Torres, who in April suffered a domestic accident that had him with health complications. The professional tried to stay solely with therapy and medications, but eventually he had to enter the pavilion.

The communicator himself explained the situation to Las Últimas Noticias, detailing that he was making repairs to his house in Cajón del Maipo.

“From the ceiling a large wooden structure fell onto my left arm. I am very resistant to pain, so I did not give it that much importance at the time. With the days it became more intense ”, Indian.

After that, Torres maintained that: “His arm tendon was cut into three parts and his rotator cuff was broken.”

That is why he began therapy with a kinesiologist for several months. However, this was insufficient and on September 11 it had to be operated.

“It didn’t work out, the pain was excruciating. I lost eight kilos of sheer pain, I couldn’t even eat. It was a horrible pain, I am not sure how to describe it. At night it was very accentuated and during the day I was half thrown. I went to physical therapy and it was as if I had climbed a hill, “he said.

Fortunately, the procedure had good results and Torres returned to TVN on October 13, using a sling and with special care.

“The procedure is called arthroscopy. We are talking about a surgery that is done with cameras. Incisions of approximately 5 millimeters are made. One is made in the back of the shoulder and surgical instruments are entered through the other small incisions. In Iván’s case, one of the tendons, the long head of the biceps, was badly damaged, so we removed part of that tendon. And the other tendon, the supraspinatus, we repaired ”, indicated the traumatologist Julio Contreras.

For now, the professional will continue with his meteorological reports, but will not neglect the recovery therapy, which will be extensive.

“The traumatologist sent me the video of my operation. He even put music on it. I saw it once and it seemed like an incredible procedure. Now I’m fine, with a sling, kinesiology and the doctor told me that recovery takes between 4 or 6 months ”, concluded.
