The councilors of Maipú Pedro Delgadillo, Gonzalo Ponce and Ariel Ramos arrived this Monday at the Electoral Tribunal of the Metropolitan region to request the dismissal of the mayor Cathy Barriga.
The motion accusing a notable abandonment of duties is based on a series of pronouncements by the Comptroller about their work and accuse patrimonial damage to the coffers of the municipality for a series of unjustified dismissals.
Ramos pointed out at a press point that councilors Marcela Silva, Erto Pantoja and Abraham Donoso also participate in the petition.
What they claim, he assured, is that in the commune there is a “bad government” by Barriga, since his administration “only has focused on her figure, leaving our communities totally abandoned ”.
For example, he assured that a millionaire affectation to the municipal coffers has been generated, as he has not invested in Smapa, the only sanitary in the country which is still municipal.
Meanwhile, Councilor Delgadillo pointed out that this petition was born in the oversight role they have as councilors.
“We stopped having a municipality with a participatory mayor. The doors were closed to the leaders, to the communities. We can not accept. The heart of a commune is its social leaders“He added.
Finally, Councilor Ponce pointed out that “what we are looking for is that the fate of this mayor is dismissal, because we have the clarity that everything is argued.”
“A notable abandonment of duties. Here the Municipality of Maipú has been abandoned ”, he pointed out.
