Like a “not easy” moment. This is how they said in the UDI to feel after knowing the categorical triumph of the Approval in the plebiscite this Sunday, where at 10:20 p.m., said option was imposed with 78.01% of the preferences with 69.81% of the polled tables.

At the UDI headquarters, located in Sweden 286 Providencia, the president of the store, Jacqueline van Rysselberghe made a press point accompanied by a large part of the party leadership.

“Indeed here there is already a categorical triumph of the Approval,” said the senator for Biobío. “And that leads us to immediately get to work to be able to elect the best constituents,” he added.

The president of the union assured that “we understand and believe that we represent that twenty-something percent who voted for the Rejection and who believe that there is no need to start from scratch, that the changes are not from scratch. And that the changes that are needed also require to be able to perfect and maintain what has made us great. A process starts and, from that perspective, we are getting to work today “.

Van Rysselberghe also stressed that “the UDI was the only party that represented the Rejection with a unique position and if we represent 20% of Chile, the truth is that I think it is a good representation.”

Likewise, about the process that is coming now, which involved the election of the members of the constituent convention and the process of writing the Magna Carta itself, the senator affirmed that it was something that people had a “wrong idea” about what what was it.

“I think that people have a wrong idea of what this Constitution is going to be, here the Constitution is going to be written by the constituents, who are people who are going to be nominated for the most part by the political parties, it is not the ordinary citizen. Here what you have to do is choose good constituents and we will get to work on that from now on, “he said.

Finally, he assured that “we hope to have unity in our sector”, in Chile Vamos, in the face of what will be the election of the conventional ones, in order to defend the ideas of the conglomerate.

His peer, Senator Juan Antonio Coloma, stated that “today a process does not end, one begins. We have had a complex, difficult choice. Obviously the results cannot make us happy. But I think that in public life one does not lower one’s arms at this time, but rather strengthens hearts ”.

“Our conviction is that we have to be able to have a very good result in the election of constituents,” he closed.
