The mayor of Las Condes, Joaquin Lavin, went to vote after 11:30 this Sunday at the San Francisco del Alba school.

Upon entering the premises, the communal chief expressed his enthusiasm, stating that he was “happy to come to vote” and added that “today a new stage is beginning for Chile.”

Regarding the controversial statements of Jose Antonio Kast, Lavín argued that “Today is a day in which we remain silent and the people are the ones who speak”.

Around 09:00 hours, after voting, Kast admitted that he opted for “Rejection” and called on the public to mark that option, despite the fact that there is a prohibition on propaganda today.

Meanwhile, the mayor of Las Condes indicated that the tables are 100% constituted in the commune and called on people to be “calm and vote, since the members are ready.”

Upon leaving the venue, Joaquín Lavín said that he had to stand in line, “but he advanced quite quickly” and said that his card remained on the table.

Likewise, he stated that he feels that he feels that Chile is starting a new stage, that it is not starting from scratch, and stressed that “we want to build a different and better country. I look at it with hope. So the most important thing today is that many people participate in this process and vote ”.

“I was impressed that I saw many young people, I think there are many people who are voting for the first time,” he emphasized.

Before the consultations of a possible presidential candidacy, he said that it is not the moment to speak of the subject and that the most important vote is that of April 11, “because we are going to choose the people who are going to write this new constitution (…) So that choice is the most important of all ”.

“The call I make is that the Chile that we are going to start building now be a Chile of unity and not of division, of moderation and not of polarization”, he stated.
