The political movement National Union of the Revolutionary Left (UNIR) from Los Ríos, confirmed the presentation of an appeal for protection to annul the Plebiscite, affirming that the Political Agreement for Peace and the constitutional reform to carry out the participation process are arbitrary and discriminatory.

The national coordinator of UNIR, Arturo Bravo, confirmed that the legal action was presented this Friday in the Court of Appeals of Valdivia, against the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies and Deputies, to invalidate the consultation that will take place this Sunday.

As indicated in the legal text, Law 21,200 that establishes the procedure for the elaboration of a new Constitution of the Republic, approved after the Political Agreement for Peace within the framework of the social outbreak, was an arbitrary and illegal act.

They add that this means a deprivation, disturbance or threat in the exercise of equality before the law since the only ones who can exercise the Original Constituent Power are the co-legislators, arbitrarily and illegally excluding the rest of the citizens from this exercise to create said law of Constitutional Reform, who could not dictate according to the same precepts of the Constitution.

This was explained to Radio Bío Bío by the representative of the political organization, Arturo Bravo, who added that the action was presented in different regions of the country.

Regarding the date to present it, that is, two days before the Plebiscite, Bravo pointed out that it is related to the exhaustive work carried out by the jurists who supported them to present the appeal.

Legal action that also asks as an order not to innovate that the Plebiscite is not held on Sunday, which will no longer be possible, since the text would be known to the Court in Valdivia only next week.

It should be noted that the National Union of the Revolutionary Left (UNIR) is not linked to the Unite Movement, headed by Deputy Marcelo Díaz, from where they even clarified that they have nothing to do with this grouping.
