This after it was known yesterday that, in response to the constitutional accusation, Minister Pérez made it clear that, under a state of exception, the forces of public order are the responsibility of the portfolio he directs Mario Overflows, who did not hide his annoyance in a meeting he had with Pérez and President Sebastián Piñera himself.
“To avoid any interpretation that could generate an artificial controversy, I have instructed my defense not to persevere in that argument, which for the rest was already clarified in today’s session (yesterday Friday) “, said Pérez in an interview with The Mercury.
The Interior Minister added that “I have dedicated my life to promoting the unity of our sector and I do not want a phrase of my defense to affect the unity of the center-right, which is one of the assets of our Government and a predecessor concern of President Piñera. “
He also remarked that “if someone believes that presenting an inconsistency by the opposition generates the effect that I am holding the Ministry of Defense responsible, I want to deny it outright.”
“With Mario Desbordes I have an almost daily, permanent relationship; therefore, when one has a complication, it is raised and resolved,” said Pérez, who assured that, early on Friday, he called him to address the issue.
