Maria Belen Carvajal It has been standing out for years in the national benchmark and now it is going for another record, after it was designated as central judge in a Primera B match.
The Referees Committee appointed Carvajal to direct the match between Deportes Melipilla and Deportes Copiapó that will be played on October 28. It will be the first time that a woman is the highest refereeing authority in a First B match.
It should be remembered that in 2019 Cindy Nahuelcoy was the first woman to be part of an arbitration body in First B, when she was an assistant in the match between Magallanes and San Luis de Quillota.
For her part, María Belén Carvajal was also the first woman to lead a match in Chilean professional soccer, when in 2018 she was in charge of bringing justice in a match of the Second Professional Division between Independiente de Cauquenes and Colchagua.
Carvajal, who has been a FIFA category since 2010, has vast experience in professional referees. In fact, she was at the 2019 Women’s Soccer World Cup in France.
