The president of United States, Donald trump, and his rival Joe biden they met on Thursday in their last televised debate, just 12 days before the elections.

Despite the expectations that there would be another confrontation with personal insults and multiple interruptions, the meeting took place -mainly- in an atmosphere of respect.

The 90-minute meeting was in Nashville, Tennessee, the capital of country music, from 10:00 p.m. Chilean time. Unlike what happened in the debate between the vice presidential candidates, Kamala Harris and Mike Pence, this time the two candidates were not separated by a transparent barrier for health reasons.

To avoid the chaos of the first meeting, it was indicated that the microphone of the candidate who is not speaking would be off. However, there were few moments in which this measure seemed to go into effect.

“It seems very unfair to me,” Trump complained when the measure was announced before the debate, and also reiterated his criticism of the moderator of the NBC network, Kristen Welker, whom he accused of being a leftist Democrat.

His main argument is that the parents of the 44-year-old journalist are fervent Democrats. However, during the meeting, he even praised her – though he interrupted her several times.

Trump, 74, and Biden, 77, faced each other earlier in a chaotic first debate in late September in Cleveland, Ohio, in which the Republican president nonstop interrupted the Democratic nominee and told him he had no ” nothing smart ”, while he called him a“ liar ”and a“ clown ”, and asked him to be quiet.

Check out the minute by minute below:

23:37 Welker closed the debate.

23:36 “I am going to give them hope (…) We are going to choose science over fiction,” Biden agrees.

23:35 The final question is about “leadership”, they are asked what they would say to people who did not vote for them on their inauguration days.

Trump recounts several points he made earlier in the debate.

23:33 Biden argues that polluting industries should be gradually replaced by clean, renewable sources.

23:30 “I know more about windmills than you. It is very expensive and it kills all the birds, ”says Trump.

22:28 “It is the craziest plan that anyone has ever seen,” attacks Trump regarding Biden’s environmental programs.

23:24 Trump assures that there have been important advances in environmental matters- “Look at China, how dirty it is. Look at Russia, look at India. The way we were, I took us out of it ”, he assures.

23:21 “You are pure mouth and no action,” Trump accuses regarding the little progress of these policies in the Obama term, to which Biden responds that they had a “Republican Congress.”

Trump tells him that he should have convinced them, despite previously complaining that Democrats in parliament do not approve his pandemic aid plan.

23:19 Biden dismisses the policies adopted during his time in Congress in the fight against drug trafficking as a “mistake”. “They should not be going to jail for a problem with alcohol or drugs, they should go to be treated,” he says.

Trump asks “why didn’t you do it while you were in charge?”

23:16 Trump assures that “I am the least racist person in this room”, after being confronted for his statements about the Black Lives Matter movement, which he labeled a “hate group”.

23:14 “I ran for you (Biden and Obama), because you did a terrible job,” says Trump.

In turn, Biden maintains that “you know who I am, you know who he is. They know their character, they know mine (…) the character of the country is at stake ”.

Trump begins to interrupt, approaching the end of the debate.

23:08 Biden and Trump defend their policies on racial violence.

“No one has done more for the black population than Donald Trump, possibly with the exception of Abraham Lincoln,” says Trump.

23:06 “It makes us laugh-out loud and violates every notion of who we are as a nation. Those children are alone, they have nowhere to go. It’s criminal, ”attacks Biden.

For his part, Trump accuses him of “having no idea about immigration policy.”

23:03 Trump accuses the previous administration of having built the cages in which the children were locked, which is dismissed by Biden.

This, in turn, commits an immigration reform so that all those children have access to US citizenship, instead of being sent to a country they do not know, separated from their parents. “We owe it to him,” he defends.

23:00 Welker moves on to the next topic: immigration, recalling that the United States cannot locate thousands of children who were separated from their parents.

Trump holds “coyotes” and human traffickers responsible.

22:59 Biden assures that “I am a proud Democrat but I will be an American president”.

In addition, he defends raising the minimum wage and helping small entrepreneurs. “We should be rescuing them now!” He exclaims.

22:56 Trump accuses the leader of the House of Representatives, led by the Democrats, Nancy Pelosy, of not wanting to pass a plan to help families due to the pandemic.

22:55 Trump assures that specialists say that the stock market will fall if Biden is elected.

“The stock market is the only way he has to measure success, but people do not live off the stock market”, defends Biden.

22:52 “If they choose Biden, they are going to have socialized health care!” Trump accused.

“People deserve affordable health care. Final point. Final point. Final point. End point, ”Biden responds.

22:51 Biden responds to accusations that he wants a “socialized healthcare system” by claiming that his alternative only adds a public alternative, does not eliminate a private one.

22:49 Trump states that “I want to end Obamacare to bring a beautiful new plan.”

“Where is that plan?” Biden replies.

22:46 Welker moves to the next topic: health coverage.

Trump defends his measures, including eliminating parts of the act known as “Obamacare.”

22:45 “There was a very dangerous period during my first three months, they left me in a mess,” Trump said.

22:43 Trump assures, after being confronted about his relationship with the North Korean president, Kim Jong-Un, that he avoided a “nuclear war.”

22:38 Welker moves on to the next topic: China.

Biden accuses Trump of “getting close” with “thugs” like the leaders of North Korea and Russia.

22:35 Trump accuses Biden of receiving money from foreign sources through his brothers and sons.

Biden points out that those cases have already been investigated by the Republicans, without finding evidence of any crime.

22:31 “What are you hiding?” Biden asks Trump, given that he has been resisting publishing his finances for more than 4 years, as he has done.

Trump in turn defends that he has “pre-paid” his taxes, promising again that he would release them “as soon as he can.”

22:28 Trump accuses Biden of receiving money from Putin, after Biden accused the president’s lawyer, Rudy Guliani, of being a “pawn” of Russia.

“I have not received a penny from any foreign source once in my life,” says Biden, recalling the ‘secret’ account that Trump maintains in China, which was revealed this week by the New York Times.

22:25 Welker goes on to the second topic: the accusations by the US intelligence services that Russia and Iran are trying to interfere in the US elections.

Biden affirms before this that “any country that tries it is going to pay a price if I am elected. They are interfering with American sovereignty. I don’t know why he (Trump) hasn’t said a word about it. ”

22:23 Trump is confronted with his remarks this week, in which he called the greatest expert in the area in the US, Anthony Fauci, “a disaster”, basing his comments on the fact that the specialist said months ago that one should not wear masks.

The latter, based on the lack of supplies that could cause the massive purchase of this product.

22:19 “He is going to shut down the entire country even if only one person in our entire bureaucracy says it has to be done,” Trump accused.

“It’s just not true,” Biden replied.

22:17 So far, the debate has remained respectful, without major interruptions despite the fact that the microphones have not been turned off as announced. However, Trump has occasionally interrupted Welker.

22:15 “Are people learning to live with it? Please, people are learning to die from this, ”Biden replies after

“It is not my fault that it came here, it is from China,” Trump accused.

22:13 “There is not a single scientist who thinks that this is going to end anytime soon,” emphasizes Biden, while Trump defends that “we cannot stop our country, we have to learn to live with this.”

The president assured that Biden accused him of xenophobic, to which his rival replied that “Trump is xenophobic, but not because he stopped the transit from China, and he did it late, after 40 years had already done it.”

22:10 Trump defends his expectations regarding the time it will take to produce and distribute the vaccine, while Biden recalls that “this is the same guy who said this would end by Easter.”

The questions and answers remain in line with what was discussed in the first presidential debate.

22:05 The first topic is covid-19, so the moderator asks Trump how he will lead the next phase of the fight against the pandemic. Trump highlights that “a vaccine will be announced in the coming weeks,” highlighting the experimental treatment he received from Regeneron, to which he attributes his recovery.

“It is not a guarantee, but (the vaccine) will be for the end of the year,” he said.

Biden, for his part, commits a series of measures in line with the recommendations of experts, both at the level of promoting the use of masks and tracking and testing, describing the way in which Trump has addressed the pandemic as “tragic”. “I’ll get this over with,” he says.

22:00 The moderator, Kristen Welker, started the debate.
