A mistake deprived Joaquin Niemann to start your journey in the best possible way Zozo Championship, which is played in Thousand Oaks, California, and finished far from the leaders on the first day of competition.

As happened last week in the CJ Cup, the Talagante native was in the Top 10 during the day, but finished the day in the T40 place.

‘Joaking’ started at hole 10 and already at flag 13 he obtained his first birdie of the day, anticipating an auspicious day.

Niemann had good shots on the next few holes, but only on 17 did he add the second birdie of the day after a remarkable tee shot.

Then, at flag 1, the Chilean dispatched a third birdie that catapulted him to the Top 10. However, everything would change at flag 4: a bogey.

In the following holes Niemann was far from repeating what he had done in the beginning and, at the end of the day, waiting for the result of other competitors, he closed the day with a score of -2 in the T40 place.

It is worth mentioning that the Zozo Championship is momentarily led by the Colombian Sebastian Muñoz, tied with English Tyrrell hatton, both with a -8 card.
