There are about 150 doctors who have already paid the back rent corresponding to August. This was reported by the administration of Clinicas Las Condes which also specified that the services associated with those contracts were restored.
This comes after the Las Condes Clinic on Tuesday informed 155 doctors that they had not paid the rent for July and August for their consultations, that it would block their services. This Wednesday morning, the threat was carried out.
The action of CLC prevented the doctors from seeing new patients and in light of this, the CLC Medical Corps advised the affected professionals to pay their rent in order to schedule new consultations, and they did. By the end of the afternoon yesterday, there were already 100 doctors who had paid what was owed.
The administration reiterated that the timely payment of infrastructure rents is a contractual obligation of doctors and a requirement to be able to use the facilities. “Any arbitrary and unilateral decision to suspend the payment of rent for hours for the use of medical consultations is the direct and ethical responsibility of the contract holder and only harms the institution and its patients,” the statement said.
The Medical Corps, for its part, insists on defending that the administration’s action violates the Do Not Innovate order, issued by the justice system and argues that the payment of the bills responds to “ethical reasons associated with not generating health risks on patients , but reserving the right to take legal action ”.
