The Minister of the Interior, Victor Perez, He referred this Thursday to the intelligence report that the Government received about a year ago on the so-called social outbreak and which made reference to the presence of foreign groups.

Pérez downplayed the existence of the report, which pointed to a youtuber as the leader of an alleged Venezuelan operation in Chile during the social outbreak to destabilize the country.

According to the Secretary of State, the report was analyzed on its merit, like many others that came to the hands of President Sebastián Piñera, but that the president took the most democratic option, referring to the constituent process.

“On November 15, less than 28 or 27 days after it happened, the decision of the President of the Republic was to generate a political agreement to establish that democracy as the mechanism to provide solutions to the problems of Chileans“, He indicated.

Along the same lines, regarding intelligence reports, both military and civil, he indicated that there were reports that were dissimilar to each other, so that all were analyzed on their merits.

“The reports were dissimilar so the authority analyzed it as a whole
and the decision was to channel a democratic mechanism (…) It is a report, like many others received by the President of the Republic ”, he added.

The content of the failed report of the Army’s National Intelligence Directorate (DINE), erroneously pointed to the alleged intervention “a battalion of 600 clandestine agents, experts in urban guerrilla warfare,” to carry out insurrectionary operations in Chile during the so-called outbreak last year and that identified the “Venezuelan” Pedro Carvajalino as the leader of the group, who turned out to be a youtuber host of the TV program “Zurda Konducta”.
