During this Wednesday the Navy —through an internal communication video— referred to the controversy of the deputy Hugo Gutiérrez (PC), who this Monday in a direct from his Facebook fanpage called the institution a “terrorist illicit association” and “Genocidal”.

In this regard, the commander in chief of the Navy, Admiral Julio Leiva, addressed all the members of the institution, categorically rejecting Gutiérrez’s words and adding that they will analyze legal actions.

“I want to send a message to the endowments of our institution. Regarding the statements made by deputy Hugo Gutiérrez that have been disseminated through social networks, where he refers in false and offensive terms towards the Chilean Navy and its more than 25 thousand men and women, I want to express to you with force and categorical the total rejection of the abusive accusations and without any basis that allude to us directly, ”he said.

He added that “the opinions expressed by the deputy towards the institution do not conform to reality, we do not understand them, much less accept and reject them in the most forceful way.

“As an institution we see ourselves in the moral obligation to analyze the legal actions that merit the serious injuries publicly disseminated by Deputy Gutiérrez”, he assured.

He also indicated that “the legacy that Prat and Aldea left us is the lighthouse that allows us to navigate to a safe harbor, regardless of the challenges that, for more than 200 years of existence, patriotic men and women and lovers of Chile have had to face as part of a permanent institution of the Republic, recognized and respected by Chileans ”.

“Difficult tasks for men and women committed and capable at the service of their country, so the bow, helmsman, ahead of all strength,” he argued.
