Young man files complaint for alleged assaults and rape in a police station cell in Talcahuano | National

A young man arrested a few days ago in Talcahuano denounced physical abuse by carabinieri and of a group of detainees in the Second Police Station, who also allegedly raped him. Given the seriousness of the events, the victim filed a complaint, requesting an investigation from the Public Ministry.

It was last October 12 when this 18 year old teenager, by order of the Family Court, he was removed from his mother’s house as a result of an argument.

At the moment of being taken out of the apartment by Carabineros personnel, the young man broke the glass of a door and then the policemen they detain him for damages, being transferred to the Second Police Station of Talcahuano.

As the individual told Radio Bío Bío, who asked to keep his identity confidential, He was admitted to a cell where there were 20 other detainees, where he was beaten and raped.


The young man assured that despite the cries for help, no one helped him. After being released, he went to the house of some relatives, to whom he finally related what had happened, and was taken to Las Higueras Hospital.

Although the doctors reported various injuries to the body, the sexual abuse was not recorded in the report. However, the young man was given Truvada Tenofovir drugs to prevent HIV.

Due to the seriousness of the story, lawyer Oscar Ulloa decided to file a complaint, requesting the Prosecutor’s Office investigation of various crimes.

While the adolescent assures that the Second Police Station did not want to receive the complaint, from the Port Carabineros Prefecture a brief version was delivered that recognizes the detention and freedom of the young man after a few hours, but that the verification of the sexual attack was not wanted by the victim, although in any case the antecedents were delivered to the Public Ministry.
