According to Alessandri, the Government took an observer role rather than containing and preventing what was happening.
“I sympathize with the police for the tremendous hit, but what about the State, I felt it contemplative at times, looking at the cameras “, he sentenced.
“I want to tell the State to protect Santiago, its neighborhoods, its merchants, its neighbors because we are not going to let it become a sacrificial zone. We ask for a more active role, not to let it be done,” he added.
He also made a strong appeal to those in charge of public order: “When one assumes certain positions, one also has to assume the obligations of that position, mayors are not in charge of public order. The State must prevent this from happening again. ”
“With enough regret, I ask the Government to take all the necessary measures, adjusting to the protocols, we will be supporting them,” he said.
To the neighbors while Alessandri told them that “we are with them, we empathize with their pain and together we will move forward. ”
