While tens of thousands of people peacefully gathered in the Plaza Baquedano sector to commemorate the first anniversary of the social outbreak, the other side of the coin was experienced in the vicinity of the epicenter of the protests.

The most serious events were the fires in the institutional Church of the Chilean Police in the Parque San Borja sector, and the Church of the Assumption located in Vicuña Mackenna with Pierre de Coubertin.

In the neighboring area of ​​Plaza Italia, a group also started a fire in the Mutual de Seguridad building in Alameda. In addition, looting was reported in the mini-market of the service center located in Diagonal Paraguay with San Camilo, in the Santa Isabel de Portugal supermarket with Diagonal Paraguay, and in the Hites multi-store in Alameda with San Antonio.

In the south of the capital, another focus of protest was concentrated in Protectora de la Infancia in Puente Alto.
