A PDI policeman shot back an attempt to steal his vehicle while he was driving through a downtown area of ​​the capital’s Maipú commune last night, on his day off. In the shooting, one of the criminals was killed, while another two managed to escape.

As reported by the Investigative Police, the events occurred on Avenida Las Torres with Pajaritos, where the detective, a detective from the Theft Investigation Brigade (Biro) Occidente, was intercepted by three armed subjects in an attempt to “lock him up.”

According to this information, the subjects got out of a car and intimidated the PDI policeman in order to steal his vehicle. However, the detective pulled out his service weapon, identified himself as a police officer, and repelled the assault with bullets.

One of the criminals died in the same place, while the other two fled in his vehicle.

Later, it was verified that the victim was 22 years old and that he had a conviction for robbery with surprise. The investigation of the police case was in charge of the Western Metropolitan Prosecutor’s Office.
