For the crimes of violation of secrecy, computer sabotage and abuses against individuals, the Carabineros lieutenant colonel, Fredy Vergara, was sued, who was controlled by an effect of the PDI outside the house of the High Complex Central North prosecutor, Ximena Chong, after the formalization of the cash accused of pushing a minor from the Pío Nono Bridge.
The situation occurred on October 7, when the lieutenant stopped his motorcycle in front of the persecutor’s home, being controlled by a detective. Procedure that was recorded in a video that Vergara himself presented to explain the facts.
As he explained at the time, “at no time did I stop, and the direction of the streets forced me to return to my original route of the journey. Considering that I was no longer going to try to return to the workshop at that time — it was getting a bit late — I continued my journey and was inspected when I got there to Bilbao street.
This action led to the national prosecutor, Jorge Abbott, contacting the Minister of the Interior, Víctor Pérez, to express his concern for the safety of the persecutors, in particular Ximena Chong.
Questions that were also joined by the National Association of Prosecutors, the National Federation of Public Ministry Officials and more than 150 lawyers who called on the Government to be more emphatic in rejecting the intimidations against the persecutor.
It should be noted that the prosecutor is under police protection after receiving a series of threats in the framework of the formalization of the police officer accused of pushing a minor from the Pío Nono Bridge to the bed of the Mapocho river.
The lieutenant colonel of the Carabineros affirmed that the detective did not identify himself at the time of carrying out said control, that is why he presented the complaint in the Eighth Guarantee Court of Santiago against those who are responsible, which was admitted to processing.
