According to the 130-page report on the anomalies in the municipality headed by Mayor Miguel Ángel Arriagada “it is not appropriate for the Municipality of San Ramón to hire under the fee mode and keep in service in such capacity those who are convicted of crimes or simple crimes “.

According to the Comptroller, four officials hired by the municipality between January 1, 2014 and July 31, 2019 had kinship ties with managers, department heads or councilors, which contravenes the provisions of the organic law of municipalities.

In addition, 18 paid workers were hired despite registering convictions for crimes or simple crimes, and another 36 people hired present annotations for crimes or simple crimes in the criminal record of the Civil Registry and Identification Service.

Said contracts are not registered in the Information and Control System of the Personnel of the State Administration.

The Comptroller’s Office also established disbursements for $ 5,503,888 for the provision of services at fees, without the municipality endorsing these expenses, among other irregularities.
