Eight seriously injured left a violent collision en route to Vicuña

Eight people with injuries of varying degrees – two of them life-threatening, an adult and a child – left, on Monday afternoon, the collision between a Nissan Terrano truck and a Toyota Yaris car on Route D-41, to the height of the Callejón de Las Matocas in San Isidro.

The reasons for the collision are under investigation although alcohol consumption by one of the drivers involved is presumed.

Firefighters Volunteers together with Carabineros and SAMU officials arrived at the scene. Due to the incident, there was a significant congestion on the route.

Among those injured is also a pregnant woman. The injured were transferred to the Vicuña hospital, in the first instance to verify the severity of their injuries.

It is the second accident on the route

This is the second accident that has been registered in the middle of the long weekend on route D41. The first of them occurred in the early hours of Sunday, when a minor vehicle hit a tree.

The accident left the sad balance of two deceased young people, 20 and 21 years old.
