The Atacama Prosecutor’s Office together with the PDI Homicide Brigade are investigating a femicide occurred during the last hours in Copiapó.
According to the information provided by the Public Ministry, the victim was identified as Leidy Arboleda Riascos, of Colombian nationality.
The chief prosecutor of Copiapó, Christian González, indicated that the perpetrator of the crime would be the victim’s partner, also Colombian. The two had a two-year relationship and lived in Chile for six months.
González added that the death was caused by a sharps wound at the level of the clavicle.
For his part, the head (s) of the PDI Homicide Brigade, Commissioner Félix Vega, indicated that they are working to find the whereabouts of the accused, since still on the run.
“According to the first proceedings carried out, the perpetrator of this event would be his partner, also of Colombian nationality. Due to the above, various proceedings are being carried out such as registration at the scene of the events in order to establish what happened and locate the current whereabouts of the accused as soon as possible, ”he said.
The victim’s body was taken to Legal Medical Service for the autopsy of rigor.
