This Friday, October 9, a new demonstration took place in favor of the ‘Rejection’ of a constituent process, as well as in support of Carabineros officials, according to its organizers.
Participants congregated at the Las Condes Civic Center, some in military garb and even vehicles, or disguised with paramilitary shields and clothing.
You could even see flags with the slogan “Make America Great Again“, Part of the re-election campaign of President Donald Trump in the USA.
However, something that especially caught the attention of those who observed the concentration, was that several of the participants made the Nazi salute.
The action did not go unnoticed by the Jewish Community of Chile, which this Saturday rejected the gesture and demanded actions by the government.
“We condemn and are again concerned about the presence of neo-Nazi groups that started today in Santiago. Hate speeches do not contribute anything to the Chile we want. An urgent law condemns incitement to hatred and violence “, indicated the agency through Twitter.
We condemn and we are again concerned about the presence of neo-Nazi groups underway today in Stgo, hate speech does not contribute anything to what we want. Urgent Law that condemns incitement to hatred and violence. We await actions from @Government of Chile for these acts @Segpres
Similarly, the National Institute of Human Rights (INDH) declared its “total repudiation” of Nazi symbolism and the need to eradicate “gestures that promote violence and hatred.”
🚨 The INDH expresses a total repudiation of the use of symbols #nazis in a march in Santiago. Eradicating gestures that promote hatred and violence is the way of the #human rights for everyone, without distinction.
