Two days after the controversial match between Uruguay and Chile, Conmebol released the audio of the dialogue between the VAR and judge Eber Aquino, who decided not to sanction a criminal penalty in favor of La Roja.

As the ball hits Sebastián Coates’ hand, the judge in charge of the VAR affirms “possible penalty.”

Given this, Aquino on the court responds: “For me it hits the hand, but (Coates) has it picked up.”

After that, the dialogue of the judges in charge of the video arbitration is heard.

“I see that the arm is in a natural position … Let’s see, frame by frame, forward, one more, back, back, forward, point of contact. The point of contact is in natural position,” says one.

After that, the assistant enlarges the screen and continues: “José, I’m going to show you, leave me there, look, please look at the natural position of the arm. For me it does not expand the volume of the body.”

And after seeing the sequence again, the dialogue is terminated.

“Ready, that’s perfect,” says the judge who starts the conversation with Eber Aquino.

“Eber, everything checked, we see a natural position, we continue, we continue,” he complements.
