An overview of Albinen
The village of Albinen, nestled in the Swiss Alps, is offering a sum of 70 thousand euros (about 65.8 million pesos) to those who want to go live there and repopulate the place due to the small number of inhabitants that remain.
The initiative is part of a plan that began in 2017 and this year the Swiss government decided to draw up a regulation for their promotion and at the same time obtain a family home with two clear objectives: to stop the exodus of its inhabitants and to restore young families.
But the task of settling in Albinen is not as simple as it seems since in order to get the government subsidy, several requirements must be met, including being under 45 years of age and are willing to stay for at least 10 years in the place.
Although the most complicated thing comes now: applicants must demonstrate that they will invest a large amount of financial resources during the ten years that the stay lasts. The authorities require an investment of at least 170 thousand euros and if this is not met, people must return the aid provided.
