During the afternoon of this Wednesday, the ANEF Conflict Commission denounced an attack by the Minister of Economy Lucas Palacios to an official of his cabinet during an activity for – supposedly – getting in his way.
In this context, according to the group, the worker carried out the respective complaint to the Prosecutor’s Office for the situation that occurred during the morning.

Meanwhile, through a statement, the Minister of Economy came out to explain the episode, which, according to him, occurred after 9 in the morning, when he was in a videoconference with the World Bank with two ministry officials, who provided technical support during his presentation.
“Before the start of the event, we received instructions that cell phones should be turned off so as not to interrupt it. The exhibition had to be in English and without cuts. The recording required that I speak seated and directly to a camera, less than half a meter away from it, without being able to move from that frame, due to the technical requirements of the World Bank ”, he specified.
In this context, he assured, one of the officials – sitting next to him – began to use his cell phone and he began, without success, to make gestures to attract his attention while he was still on camera. “Before repeated gestures, I managed to touch his leg with my left shoe under the table, so that he could see me, finally capturing his attention while the recording continued ”, assured.
At the end of his presentation, Palacios said that he noticed the official’s discomfort at the episode, which is why he would have apologized.
“After this, the official withdrew from the ministry. I am deeply sorry for this situation, and I apologize if this fact caused any inconvenience. the official or any other person. I have always cared about having a very good relationship with people and this is no exception. On the contrary, all the people who work with me know that respect and affection are the fundamental pillar of my employment relationship, ”he said in his statement.
