This Wednesday the authorities delivered a new balance regarding the situation of the pandemic in the country, where 1,131 new cases of COVID-19 and 19,706 PCR tests performed, the least number of tests performed in the last 14 days.
With respect to the 1,131 new cases, 803 correspond to symptomatic people and 309 to people who do not present symptoms. In addition, 19 Positive PCR tests were recorded that were not reported.
The total number of people who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the country reaches 474,440. Of this total, 14,297 patients are in the active stage.
Regarding deaths, according to the information provided by the Department of Statistics and Health Information (DEIS), in the last 24 hours there were 20 deaths from causes associated with COVID-19. The total number is 13,090 in the country.
To date, 818 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units (ICU), of which 622 are on mechanical ventilation support and 96 are in critical health. It is important to mention that for the first time less than 100 people are registered in a critical situation. Regarding the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 441 ventilators available.
Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, this Tuesday the results of 19,706 PCR tests were reported, reaching a total of 3,548,773 tests analyzed nationwide to date.
The Minister of Health, Enrique Paris, pointed out that according to this latest balance, “there continues to be a decrease in new cases, reaching 12% at the national level in the last seven days. Likewise, 14 regions decreased their new cases in the last seven days and eight in the last 14 ”. Meanwhile, Magallanes continues to maintain the highest current incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants.
In addition, the health authority reported that “of the 1,131 new cases, 19% originate from active case search (BAC) and 28% of those notified are asymptomatic. As for the Metropolitan region, it presents 18% due to BAC and 27% of the reported cases are asymptomatic ”.
