An unusual police event occurred this Monday in the La Cisterna Intermodal Station: the driver of a G04 tour bus went to the bathroom, leaving the keys in and the engine running, and a criminal took advantage of the carelessness to get behind the wheel and remove the machine from the platform, with passengers inside.
As reported by the Carabineros, the incident occurred around 11:15 am and had its epilogue at the intersection of Avenida Santa Rosa and Avenida Observatorio.
At the scene, personnel from the 39th Police Station found the micro detainee, and the kidnapped passengers – three women and a man – grappling with the thief, which, in short, the uniformed men arrested.
The offender was identified as Pablo Antonio Alveal Rodríguez, 47 years old, who has a criminal record for public disorder, crime against public health, theft, misappropriation, reception, theft of vehicle accessories, attempted robbery, house violation and simple threat.
