This morning four educational establishments in the eastern sector began their face-to-face classes again in the Metropolitan Region. This after last week this strategy began in the Pirque commune where five establishments will return to classes, although not getting much call.

In the case of the RM establishments, they are the Tabancura, Los Andes and Huelén schools, in Vitacura, in addition to the Cordillera in Las Condes those authorized to resume their face-to-face academic activities.

As already indicated, this return must be done following the protocols established by the Ministry of Education in conjunction with the Ministry of Health, such as maintaining an adequate distance from the desks in the classrooms and ensuring that no crowds are generated in the corridors, among other measures.

Today, face-to-face classes for students from the Vitacura district began

Unlike the establishments in Pirque, where attendance was low, in the case of the establishments in Santiago the return to face-to-face classes was quite high: In the case of the Tabancura school, the classes are only for the third and fourth half, and began today at 8.20 in the morning. According to the Mineduc, 58 students were expected to arrive in the morning and 55 students arrived. 54 students are expected to arrive in the afternoon period.

In this regard, Santiago Barahona, director of the Tabancura School, explained that they began to prepare the protocols for the month of June to return when possible. For those who cannot attend in person, he said, “technology has been set up so that when doing classes it is transmitted to homes.” This system also allows students from their homes to interact with the class and thus have “the closest possible school experience.”

As for the Huelén School, the director of the establishment, Carolina Reyes, detailed this morning that to date only the fourth media returned to classes, and next week they expect the third media to return. Of the income, he indicated, 39 of the total of 52 female students returned to face-to-face classes as planned.

Prior to entry, there is a declaration of consent where all the security measures that they must take in their homes appear, the commitment that families must adopt not to send their daughters if they are with any symptoms, and that reaches a platform that we design in conjunction with Seduc, ”he explained. “That allows us to know the actual attendance today, which was expected.”

Along the same lines, the Mineduc reported that Colegio Los Andes explained that 70 students were expected to arrive and 60 fourth-year students arrived.

In the case of the Cordillera school, the students have their entrance scheduled for the afternoon.

It should be noted that, as the Minister of Education, Raúl Figueroa, has pointed out, attendance is voluntary. This was reiterated this morning by the Minister of Education of the RM, Ricardo Villegas.

“We have chosen what the school and the parents have wanted, gradualism, but above all voluntariness”, he maintained on the return to face-to-face classes. “Here he is a school volunteer, and the parents’ volunteer.”

Regarding how many schools have requested to return to face-to-face classes, he indicated that in the Metropolitan Region “there are around 50 schools that have requests to return with the same system, with a lot of protection”, adding that the answer depends on complying with the protocols and May Health approve them.
