“Today’s critical beds are with 87% occupancy in ICU beds, that means we have 27 ICU beds available. We have 181 occupied beds, of which 89 are COVID-19 patients (in ICU bed I’m talking) and 92 are non-COVID patients, “he said.
Asked about the 13% of critical beds available, Mayor Sergio Giácaman said that, although it is a statistic that changes minute by minute, did not rule out that the figure could bring at least some communes of Greater Concepción closer to a lack of refinement.
“It is super dynamic. In the morning the report says one thing, later in the afternoon, but we are (…) closer to the fact that it could eventually be observed that we are complying with the requirements. Now, that is not in all communes. There are cases of communes that one sees a very important advance in terms of active cases having decreased considerably, ”he mentioned.
Among the favorable indices are the drop in infections, far from the rise that was expected as a result of the long weekend of National Holidays, although the mobility and movement of people, despite the quarantine, remains very high, said the mayor and the director of the port’s Health Service.
