The regular monthly meeting of Black and white During yesterday’s session it was marked by the letter read and signed by the directors of the opposition bloc in the concessionaire, where they are asked to “assume responsibilities” in the midst of this sports and institutional crisis of Colo Colo.
The letter was signed by Diego González, Carlos Cortés, Ángel Maulén and Alfredo Stöhwing, who also They blamed CSD Colo Colo for this sad reality, affirming that they have supported the current administration in a sort of almost “co-government” with Aníbal Mosa and company.
In that sense José Miguel Sanhueza, director representing the club in B&N, responded to this letter in conversation with our site, stating that “I find it very regrettable in terms of form, since we were not even closing the Zoom session of the B&N board and the letter that these directors read was already in the hands of the entire press. Clearly it does not seem to be a procedure very in accordance with any principle of corporate governance ”.
Analyzing the content of this and the accusations against him, he pointed out that “The directors of the CSD are not part of any ‘controlling group’ as they point out. We are directors who exercise the political rights that correspond to us according to the concession contract, in accordance with what we best estimate as directors. And we are going to continue doing it, whoever likes it, because it is a right enshrined in the concession contract, by the By-laws of ByN and also conclusively settled by the Santiago Chamber of Commerce in a zendo ruling of 2019 ” .
“Neither can one share this idea that it is compatible to be critical of a management model such as public limited companies with the fact of participating in one of them, given the context and legal reality. Those of us who participated from the CSD several years ago have been systematically critical of this model and it seems to me that it is perfectly coherent “added.
“THERE IS NO PLACE TO UNMARK THE RELITY OF COLO COLO”
In addition, the director commented on the different views that may exist within the directory, stating that “I have no problem with there being differences of opinion or project around Colo Colo, but I believe that the arena where this should be resolved in the democratic arena where from the richest to the poorest they are worth a vote and not under correlations of strength in a directory that are determined by which wallet is bigger. That vision is unshakable and in that sense we will always bet on what is best for Colo Colo ”.
With that vision, he made a call to be transparent about who should be the resignations that are so requested in the opposition bloc. “I think you should ask them what are the resignations they are asking for. I believe it is legitimate that all Colo Colo estates must be constantly subject to evaluation and decisions that may be necessary, but I perceive in the letter and its tenor a spirit of desistance and uncheck that it seems to me that, frankly, there is no place. The underlying problem of the public limited company management model is a problem in which everyone has been absolutely involved ”, he claimed.
To conclude, he made it clear that the CSD representatives are elected by the club itself and not by any opposition bloc within B & N. “As for us (together with Edmundo Valladares) as directors appointed by CSD Colo Colo, we will exercise that position accordingly and we will be in that position as long as the club so determines.. It is the club that is called upon to determine who its two representatives are, not other shareholding blocks according to their own criteria “Sanhueza concluded.
