A new threat has been detected by experts from Google. One that they thought they had been rid of for a few years, when it first appeared in 2017.

The joker attacked once more and, this time, the company has withdrawn this week from its Play store 16 applications – official for Android devices – in which the Zscaler specialists detected the ‘malware’.

Computer security expert Viral Gandhi explained that this virus, named as one of the most iconic characters in the world of comics, “is designed to steal SMS messages, contact lists and device information,” RT said.

Gandhi further noted that jester “quietly subscribes the victim to ‘premium’ wireless application protocol (WAP) services,” stealing their banking details and making the costs of subscription services virtually unnoticed by victims.

What are the applications?

As reported by the media, the applications with this virus would have been uploaded in September of this year and before Google removed from your system were downloaded about 120 thousand times.
