Unknown men attack and burn two police vehicles in the middle of an operation in Contulmo: at least three uniformed men are injured

An armed attack was registered this afternoon in the Elicura sector, Contulmo, Bío Bío Region.

According to preliminary information, two police vehicles of the Carabineros OS9, which were in the middle of an operation, were burned by unknown persons. At least three police officers were injured.

At a time when the police team, made up of nine uniformed men, was in the middle of the operation, they were rebuked by a group of people. According to the Carabineros, they had been sprayed with a liquid, apparently an accelerant.

At that moment, the police fled the place, taking refuge inside a hill. In the first instance, after the attack, six soldiers were lost. They would have been left with injuries.

Authorities in the area indicated that the OS9 procedure, ordered by the prosecution, was related to the theft of wood. The injured soldiers were taken to the Cañete Hospital to assess their injuries.
