Today the Regional Prosecutor’s Office of La Araucanía, after three months of work with a special team of the PDI, will manage to unravel this story before the Collipulli Guarantee Court, which, in its beginnings, was framed as an eventual act of institutional violence, after it became known that the Mapuche leader had denounced alleged harassment by the Carabineros to his community. However, all investigative pieces, including audios sent before and after the crime by the accused, they totally discard that theory and establish that Treuquil’s death was due to a reckoning.
In the file there are a series of conversations – rescued from Muñoz Salamanca’s telephone – in which They describe acts of planning for the Werken’s murder and even the murderer’s own confession. The audios will be exhibited today by the prosecutor Nelson Moreno who for two months was in the footsteps of Muñoz and who today He detained him at the home of Fredy Marileo, who is currently in preventive prison accused of the murder of two Mapuche community members. The Public Prosecutor’s Office of La Araucanía investigates the death of Treuquil as a settling of accounts and will impute today the crime of qualified homicide, since the conversations of the accused also reveal a planning of the crime.
