Minsal lowers days of mandatory quarantine for confirmed cases of COVID-19 – Coronavirus – 24 hours

According to Dr. María Teresa Valenzuela, a member of the COVID-19 Advisory Council, for these patients the isolation will be shortened to 10 or 11 days, different from the 14 that were currently requested.

Valenzuela complemented that this instance will govern only for confirmed cases, while close contacts will maintain 14 days.

For the expert, this refers to “virus incubation period”, situation that requires keeping the two weeks of quarantine.

Despite the above, Dr. Rafael Araos, head of the Department of Epidemiology at Minsal, stressed that the modification is confirmed but that it will not yet be carried out in the reports, because “this implies a recalculation of cases.”
