The Ministry of Health delivered a new report on the situation of the covid-19 pandemic in the country on Monday afternoon, informing that 1,770 positive cases of coronavirus have been registered, of which 1,112 have symptoms.

The most serious situation continues to be in the Magallanes region, the second that registered the most infections in the last 24 hours with 231, while the Metropolitan had 430 cases and the Bío Bío had 190 (an improvement compared to 209 on Sunday).

Along the same lines, 57 people died from covid-19 in the last 24 hours, reaching a total of 12,698 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

About the cases of covid-19, 13,957 are active and 433,016 are recovered.

Regarding hospital capacity, 884 people are hospitalized, 645 under mechanical ventilation, 136 in critical condition and there are 485 mechanical ventilators available.

Prior to this balance, the Minister of Health, Enrique Paris, said he was concerned about the situation in some regions that have registered an increase in sustained infections in the last two weeks.

“At the national level, we are concerned about the increases in cases in the last 14 days in regions such as La Araucanía, Los Ríos, Los Lagos, Aysén and Magallanes.
(…) We also highlight the Atacama region and reiterate respect for sanitary regulations and measures ”.
