In the document, they maintain that it is necessary to remember “that there is NO ‘The Evangelical Church’, but rather the churches,” so that “no particular organization or church can claim to represent all the churches, or the group of evangelicals” says the statement.

In the text, they also maintain that a fundamental part of their beliefs is “freedom of conscience”, so “The freedom of the believer to decide in conscience against the matters that concern him and also in his capacity as a citizen is guaranteed by the theology, history and tradition of the churches inheriting the Protestant Reformation.”

The controversy about the evangelicals originated after during the television slot for the plebiscite, during the space for civil organizations in favor of Rejection, a person on behalf of the “Evangelical Church” said that they will vote for that option and that Satan was behind the “social explosion”.
