In the Military hospital died Gerardo Urrich González, former agent of the defunct National Intelligence Directorate (DYNE), organ of the Augusto Pinochet dictatorship.

His death occurred early Saturday after suffering heart and respiratory failure. Urrich had also been diagnosed with COVID-19 in late August, but the disease is not mentioned on his death certificate.

The ex-uniformed man was in the military hospital last february from Punta Peuco, this due to the suffering of several diseases. Due to this, he had requested a pardon, according to the Army Generals Center.

Urrich had been convicted of qualified kidnapping of Jorge Grez Aburto, Jorge Olivares Graindorge me Ismael Darío Chávez Lobos.

He was also convicted of the murder of Jose Hernán Carrasco Vasquez with Raúl Iturriaga Neumann; and for the disappearance of members of the Central Committee of the Socialist Party.
