The President of the Supreme Court, Guillermo Silva, positively valued the decision of the Senate to reject by a large majority the constitutional accusation against Minister Silvana Donoso.
“The Supreme Court expresses its satisfaction with the rejection of the constitutional accusation, by a wide margin, against the Minister of the Court of Appeals of Valparaíso, Silvana Donoso on the part of the Senate of the Republic ”, he indicated.
Along the same lines, Silva maintains that they value that the Senate has taken the same arguments that the Supreme Court had given to defend Donoso’s work.
“Especially satisfactory is that the arguments mainly used by the parliamentarians are the same as those made by the Supreme Court at the time, both in his public statement and when we attended the accusation commission of the Chamber of Deputies as guests, together with Minister Angela Vivanco ”, he said.
“The Judicial Power and each of its members will continue to carry out their functions with the same rigor, efficiency and timeliness that it has done until now, always having as its objective social peace and concern for people and the exercise and protection of all their rights, “he added.
Donoso, who serves as minister of the Valparaíso Court of Appeals, led in 2016 the commission that granted the conditional release to Busdamente, Convicted at the time for the murder of his ex-partner and her 9-year-old son, he had previously been in prison for other crimes.
Two months ago, Busdamente was again arrested for the murder of the adolescent Ámbar Cornejo in Villa Alemana, which brought to debate the role of the judge in his release and for which deputies presented a constitutional accusation against him.
