This afternoon The Valparaíso Homicide Squad of the PDI reported that it detained Ámbar Cornejo’s mother, Denisse Llanos, as part of the investigation into the murder of the minor.
The woman was transferred to a police station in Viña del Mar.
The chief prosecutor of Villa Alemana, María José Bowen, indicated that the arrest was carried out “For his participation in the crime against his daughter regarding a judicial arrest warrant that was obtained due to the multiplicity of antecedents that have been collected during this period of investigation ”.
These, he added, “are related to photographs, planimetric reports, scientific reports, security camera review and multiple witness statements that account for the participation of Doña Denisse in the murder of her daughter.”
The persecutor indicated that during the hearing to control the detention and formalization of the woman – which will be held on Friday – they will find out more information.
The 16-year-old girl disappeared on July 29 in Villa Alemana and was found dead on August 6, with signs of brutal attacks, dismembered and buried in the house of the accused. Hugo Bustamante, partner of Ámbar’s mother, who is in custody.
