The American Magazine Hour highlighted the Chilean group LasTesis, creator of the global anthem against sexual violence “A rapist on your way”, among the 100 most influential people in the world in 2020, in a list that appears in the artists section.

The Chilean girl review, written by the member of the Russian group Pussy Riot Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, stressed that the original group from Valparaíso “shows today how popular art can change the world.”

“LasTesis created an international hit song and viral dance and, unlike most of the sausages (a high energy dance song)It’s not about the party on Friday. Five days after the group presented “A rapist on your way” for the first time, it appeared in Santiago de Chile, in front of the country’s Supreme Court, on November 25, 2019, to commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, and quickly became a feminist anthem around the world“he praised.

“It has been done by activists in more than 52 countries”, indicated the review, highlighting that “Women all over the world identify with these words.”

“Blaming the victim and shaming the whore are deeply ideological assumptions that are embedded in our brains, education, and legal systems globally. It must be changed. The 21st century is the century of brotherhood. Fuck you, Weinsteins of the world. We have just started”, concluded the text.

LasTesis was the only Chilean personality to be included this year on the list, which in 2014 highlighted the then President Michelle Bachelet and in 2018 to the actress Daniela vega, after her performance in the movie “A Fantastic Woman”, winner of the Oscar for Best Foreign Film.
