The journalist Monica Rincon engaged in a controversial discussion with the UDI deputy Juan Antonio Coloma, after he accused her of receiving leaked information from the Prosecutor’s Office. “I ask you for more responsibility,” wrote the journalist in one of her speeches.
This, after on the political talk show Zero tolerance (Chilevisión), the communicator referred to the alleged leak of the Public Ministry in the complaint against the former Minister of Health Jaime Mañalich, for his management in the middle of the covid-19 pandemic, and will show court documents.
In a publication posted on Twitter, the deputy for the 14th district accused Rincón of showing documents leaked from the Prosecutor’s Office. “This warrants investigation. In full Zero Tolerance, the journalist Mónica Rincón is wrong and acknowledges that the information ‘was also given to me by the fis …’ (in obvious allusion to a prosecutor) and they correct it and blow it “that the source gave me“, wrote.
The congressman, in the same post that contains the images in question, accused that “filtering investigations is a crime.”
The journalist responded by asking Coloma to be prudent with his interventions. “Deputy I ask you for more responsibility,” he tweeted. He added that “the letter to which I refer is also public and you can get it here http://suprema.pjud.cl/SITSUPPORWEB/ Enter the role of the cause or the name of the prosecutor and get it. I reiterate: what is public in a web portal and easily accessible is not a leak ”.

Meanwhile, later, the CNN and Chilevisión news anchor stated that “in case there is any doubt: what I showed in Zero Tolerance (written before the Supreme Court and letters from (the minister) Paris included) is not a leak. Why? Because, as those who try to confuse know well, it is public information ”.
“Here I show you (thanks to a great video they sent me) how it’s done”, closed, including a record that shows how anyone, with the internet, can obtain the documents that he showed on television.

Former Minister Mañalich, who in parallel is being constitutionally accused for his management in the midst of the pandemic, said in an interview with the national newspaper The Mercury than “The Prosecutor’s Office is in an informal investigation, it has not summoned me and has carried out a leak, it has brought information to the media that should still be in court ”.
Faced with this, the Public Ministry reacted on Twitter clarifying that “in the criminal investigation on deaths in the context of Covid-19, The Prosecutor’s Office has not leaked information or opinion. The presentation made before the Supreme Court is public, as are the accompanying documents ”.

Specifically, they refer to the text in which the North Central Prosecutor’s Office requested the Supreme Court an order to obtain the documents that the current Minister of Health, Henry Paris, refused to deliver within the framework of the complaint filed for the crimes of denial of assistance and quasi-felony of homicide against President Sebastián Piñera and the health authority for handling the crisis.
