9 sanitary summaries for the use of second homes began the health authority in the Los Ríos region this weekend. The above is part of the audits carried out during national holidays.
According to the authorities, on holidays 7,200 people were inspected in the different health customs located at the entrances to the region. Preventing the entry of 249 vehicles, which is equivalent to approximately 500 people, representing 6.9% of the total controlled.
During curfew hours, 507 people were caught circulating in the region and 93 were arrested for not carrying the safe-conduct that allows movement during hours with movement restriction.
The mayor Cesar Asenjo confirmed that in the region it was found that 9 families were using second homes, which is prohibited due to the pandemic.
During the weekend there was a reinforcement in the inspection, installing checkpoints in the old bridge sector, in Coñaripe; also in the town of Coñaripe and in the connection between Niebla and Corral, where some 4 thousand people were checked.
The Carabineros General, Iván Ketterer, explained that during national holidays 35 checkpoints were installed, verifying a decrease in traffic accidents.
According to Ketterer, in the national holidays of 2019 7,795 vehicle controls were carried out and this year the figure dropped to 3,357.
In these controls, 231 traffic violations were carried out, for driving without carrying their respective license, with a circulation permit or expired technical review, among other issues.
In addition, 13 pedestrians were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or drinking alcohol on public roads.
