Epidemiological Report: deaths from Covid-19 total 16,688 and higher mortality rates are in the MR, Antofagasta and Tarapacá

The Ministry of Health made available to the community the 52nd Epidemiological Report on Covid-19, along with the weekly report of deaths related to the disease that this Saturday revealed that there are currently 16,688 people deceased, between confirmed and probable cases, with coronavirus in Chile.

According to the report, as of Thursday, September 17, there were 12,254 deaths with confirmed PCR tests. On the other hand, the probable deaths, that is, who are awaiting confirmation or discard of the contagion, stand at 4,434.

He weekly report of deaths from Covid-19 from the Department of Health Statistics and Information (DEIS) It also revealed that the Metropolitan Region remains the region with the highest adjusted mortality rate per 100,000 inhabitants, of 98.15. They are followed by Antofagasta (86.79) and Tarapacá (60.15).

In the other village, it is noted that the regions with the lowest rate of active cases are Aysén (3.54) and Los Ríos (5.13), followed by Los Lagos (11.41), La Araucanía (13.57) and Ñuble (13.76).

The national mortality rate, meanwhile, stands at 53.68, considering confirmed and probable deaths from Covid-19.
