He Communist Party of Chile (CCP) He questioned this Saturday the report of the International Mission of the United Nations Organization (UN), according to which President Nicolás Maduro and other high authorities of the country have committed crimes against humanity.
In a statement, the community chaired by Deputy Guillermo Teillier stated that “this accusation against Venezuela, as recognized in the ‘report’, is the result of a work developed from outside the country, a text written on the basis of versions obtained remotely, in which there has not been a real exchange with the authorities of that State, that is, lacking factual evidence, so it is not an overview of the situations that have been experienced, so its references to acts at odds with human rights lacks rigor “.
The statement warned that a report on the human rights situation in Venezuela appeared coincidentally in the middle of the US Secretary of State’s tour, Mike pompeo, to Colombia, Brazil and Guyana, with the intention, according to the CCP, “to support the Venezuelan coup groups that insist on foreign intervention.”
In this context, he admitted that the country “continues to suffer from hyperinflation and severe food and medicine shortages,” but noted that the UN report “does not say a word about the blockade and foreign interference led by the United States and Colombia, which is the main cause of this situation.”
The CCP then argued that the parliamentary elections on December 6 in Venezuela “offer an opportunity for a solution through popular and democratic decision” and that the international community “must respect and encourage this process, in which the Venezuelans themselves, without foreign interference, will be able to decide their future. “
“The PC rejects, denounces and warns about the escalation of communication, diplomatic and pressure towards third countries, articulated from the US administration, of which the Chilean government is part, in order to destabilize, discredit and intervene in this electoral process and create conditions for a new crisis with destabilizing purposes, “he added.
“At the same time rejects the double discourse of those in Chile who try to present themselves as human rights defenders and say nothing about the repression known to all, in our own country, with the result of deaths and serious disabling injuries, against popular demonstrations, or those who acted as accomplices and cover-ups for the crimes committed by the dictatorship and who intend to take advantage of the ‘Report’ to raise their flagging campaign for the rejection of a New Constitution, through a hateful and deceitful communication campaign, “added the party.
And he concluded by emphasizing that “The Communist Party of Chile will not lend itself to a new international escalation against Venezuela, promoted from the US.”

The International Mission commissioned by the UN to investigate the human rights situation in Venezuela has concluded that Maduro and his Interior and Defense ministers are involved in serious crimes committed by the country’s security forces.
“The Mission has reasonable grounds to believe that both the president and the ministers of the Interior (Néstor Reverol) and of Defense (Vladimir Padrino) contributed to the commission of the crimes documented in this report,” stated in the conclusions of the investigation.
