Bad news shook Colo Colo this Saturday. The defender Matías Zaldivia, in practice this morning, The Achilles tendon was cut, so he will be operated on this Monday and possibly will not be able to play for a year.
As we found out in Outdoors, the defender was recovering from a muscle problem and during morning practice this Saturday he felt that prick in one of his heels.
The news hits the player hard, who last month had returned to the courts after being inactive for about a year.
In August 2019, he suffered a ligament tear in his left knee that left him out for six months. In addition to the time off due to the pandemic, he was only able to play in the return to the courts on August 29, starting in the fall against Santiago Wanderers.
For now Colo Colo has not made an official announcement about Zaldivia’s serious injury, pending a more accurate assessment regarding recovery times.
In the most recent case, the injury that Claudio Bravo suffered in 2018 comes to mind, which lasted for almost a year and left him out of the Copa América in Brazil 2019.
