The Ministry of Health released this Friday a new balance of the covid-19 coronavirus pandemic, highlighting the infections registered in the regions of Valparaíso and Bío Bío, which between the two concentrate 26% of new cases nationwide, despite representing only 18% of the total population.

There are 1,673 new infections reported throughout the territory, 200 of them in Valparaíso and 235 in Bío Bío. Magallanes, another of the most affected areas at this time, managed to drop slightly and scored 108 positives.

The Metropolitan region, meanwhile, recorded 383 new infections, totaling 3,856 active cases. The Bío Bío rises as the second most contagious area, maintaining 1,913 patients.

The 13 new positives in Aysén also stand out, a region that had remained almost without daily cases a few months ago and that today records its record of infections.

The country must regret another 57 deceased due to this disastrous disease, which brings to 12,199 the deceased with a positive PCR.

The level of exams luckily it stands tall. In the last day, 33,240 PCR tests were processed, which allows keeping the positivity very low, which was 5.03%.

There is a total of 902 people hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 675 are connected to mechanical ventilation, and of them 122 are in critical health.
