The family of Breonna Taylor, an African-American who died at home during a shooting with police, has resigned from a civil lawsuit after reaching a settlement Tuesday with the city of Louisville. in Kentucky, for which he will receive $ 12 million.

The agreement ends the civil actions, but not the criminal investigation, which has not yet led to any indictment, six months after Taylor’s death.
“As significant as this day is, it is only the beginning of the path to full justice for Breonna,” declared her mother, Tamika Palmer. “It is time to move forward with the criminal charges,” she added.
On the night of March 13, three plainclothes police officers entered the home of the 26-year-old with a search warrant in search of two alleged drug traffickers.
Taylor’s boyfriend, who was in bed with her, grabbed a gun and shot the officers. As he later said, he thought they were criminals.
