A new twist today added the judicial process around Hernán “Nano” Calderón, after the resignation of the expert in charge of the psychological evaluation of the accused was revealed to the press.
According to the newspaper La Cuarta, the psychologist Pilar Navarrete He submitted his resignation through a letter addressed to Mario Vargas, Calderón Argandoña’s defense attorney.
In the letter, the professional narrates a series of events that led her to desist from evaluating the accused in James 1, where is he fulfilling preventive prison.
“Having started the evaluation of the requested person and having the accused available for at least half an hour, I was forced by the defense lawyers to abandon the process,” Navarrete said, according to the same publication.
“I was not listened to but even more serious, my evaluation was interrupted when half an hour ago I had the accused available,” he added.
Later, he specified his arguments. “(I was) forced to withdraw, of which the expert witness (Nano Calderón) was a witness”, he pointed out, and at the same time he confessed to feeling “Run over like a professional”.
“It is thus and for the aforementioned, that I present my resignation from the position and I see myself in the obligation to desist from the expertise”, ends the letter.
