The North Central Metropolitan Prosecutor’s Office and the Investigative Police (PDI) are investigating the murder of a mother and daughter allegedly at the hands of her other son, happened yesterday Monday in a house in the Quilicura commune.
According to the first antecedents, it was neighbors who alerted an irregular situation in that house, where the mother lived, identified as Hope Aguilera (54 years old) with their children, one 18 and one 21, Carlos Venegas placeholder image, alleged perpetrator of the patricide with subsequent homicide.
After they received no response when knocking on the door, the neighbors notified Firefighters, who found the scene: the woman was dead with her daughter, both with multiple stab wounds and the young woman naked and lying on the floor.
After that, the police personnel arrived, found Venegas locked in his room on the second floor, with some cuts, for which he was transferred to the San José Hospital, where confessed to murdering his mother and sister, according to preliminary information.
“The arrest warrant was requested because with the information we have so far is that it would be a crime of parricide and a crime of homicide. We are talking about very serious penalties, the parricide starts at 15 years and one day and goes up to qualified perpetual imprisonment “, explained the prosecutor Felipe Olivari.
At the time of the discovery, the date of death was estimated at 12 hours, so that preliminary, the double crime occurred at 07:00 on Monday.
“The information we have is that no other person would have participated, the house was closed, the gate was closed with a padlock, and in fact Firefighters had to cut the padlocks to be able to enter,” added the persecutor, pointing to the sole authorship of the brother of the victims.

The Homicide Brigade of the PDI is also investigating whether there was any type of abuse against both women, although the first steps have not shed any light.
“According to the characteristics found on the site of the event, abuse or violation against the victims could not be credited or ruled out”, Deputy Commissioner Vicente Torres specified.
It is also investigated whether Venegas was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of allegedly committing both murders.
