The Health Authority carried out this Monday a first balance with the Special Plan for Inspections for National Holidays, reporting the number of inspections, summaries and seized products.
“To date, throughout the region, there have been 61 inspections of establishments that manufacture and sell food, 8 sanitary summaries for food safety, a ban on operation in Monte Patria and more than 700 kilos of different products seized in the communes of Illapel, Ovalle, Monte Patria, Los Vilos and La Serena ”, explained the Seremi de Salud, Alejandro García.
The inspections have focused on supermarkets, butcher shops, cured meat and empanada factories, and any place that sells fresh and processed meats, reviewing the implementation of good manufacturing and hygiene practices in all their processes.
“The call we make to buyers is to look closely at the product they are buying, always see the expiration date. In relation to the establishments, we appeal to their responsibility, both in the allowed capacity, as well as in promoting physical distancing and maintaining sanitary measures for food and Covid_19 “, added Seremi García.
Health Balance
In relation to the regional situation due to the Coronavirus, today a deceased person was reported residing in the commune of Coquimbo. The new cases registered were 79, with a cumulative 11,174 cases, of which 1,030 remain active. Of the new cases, 16 correspond to La Serena, 22 to Coquimbo, 4 to Andacollo, 5 to Vicuña, 5 to Illapel, 2 to Los Vilos, 2 to Salamanca, 16 to Ovalle, 1 to Combarbalá, 4 to Monte Patria and 2 to Río Hurtado.
The director (S) of the Coquimbo Health Service, Edgardo González, delivered the balance of the Assistance Network. “Today we have a staff of 1,234 beds, of which 324 are available, which represents 70% occupancy. Regarding the beds in the Critical Patient Units, today we have 21 ICU beds and 15 ICU beds. Units with 76% and 78% occupancy, respectively ”, he mentioned.
As for the patients hospitalized for Covid_19, the authority reported that there are 118 hospitalized people, 35 of whom are serious and connected to mechanical ventilation. In addition, she delivered the report of health personnel affected by the virus.
“Currently there are 117 officials of the Health Service and of the 10 hospitals that have tested positive for the virus, and 66 are in preventive quarantine. As for Primary Health Care, there are 20 officials who have tested positive for the virus and 48 remain in quarantine ”.
